If you are searching for the right tips on how to How to Pass FUTO Post UTME 2020/2021, this guide we be all you need to smash the exams this year.
You may consider this a secret from a senior student, or just a candid concern from a blogger, but the assurance is that at the end, you will gain the sought-after admission into the Federal University.
Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO)
FUTO is one of the Federal University of Technologies in Nigeria, situated in Owerri (one of the local governments of Imo state).
As a federal university, the school does not boast of many numbers, when compared with some full-fledged universities in Nigeria such as the University of Nigeria Nsukka.
As such, to gain admission into the school, students need to understand the nature of competition that awaits them; from among their fellow prospective engineering and science students.
Back in 2011, when I gained admission to study computer science in the school, it was almost 70% male students against just the beautiful 30% ladies; but the viability of the institution in the areas of engineering, technology, pure and applied sciences, have caused a lot of influx into the eastern Federal University.
To help you pass FUTO post UTME 2020, I have dedicated my time, to share the tips based on my previous experiences and what we have now in the school.
The number of courses that are more competitive than each other, the cut-off marks for some of the courses, and how to tackle their examination questions, in the screening halls.
How can I Pass FUTO Post UTME 2020/?
FUTO Post UTME 2020 will never be anything different from the previous years; I must assure you.
But you need to tackle the questions with these new tactics, because more brilliant students like you must be preparing for the same screening examination.
Be Sure of your Courses
By now, you must have accessed your JAMB Score; to compare with the previous cut-off mark for the particular course you chose during the JAMB registration. If that does not align, you should consider making a change of course, for better chances of admission.
This reason is enough to help you rethink. What course did you choose during JAMB registration?
If the score is too low, and above the minimum requirements for other departments, then you have to adjust or get ready for the next phase.
Burn the Candle
I want to begin this with an instance; let’s assume you scored 250 in your recently concluded JAMB, and you applied for Civil Engineering in FUTO.
Let us also assume that the previous minimum score for the course is 280, you can now see that you are close. But something needs to be done, if you want to gain admission into the school, no matter how connected you are.
The level of transparency in the school entails giving admission to students who got there by merit. So what will you do now?
If I were you, I will be asking about the last years cutoff marks for the course that reflect your interest in the various schools of your choice.
From the example given above, your question should be, but not limited to: what do I need to score in my JAMB and post UTME, to gain admission into Civil Engineering?
In sincerity, let us find an answer that can offer you admission, without having to wait till next year.
You score 250 but the school demands an average of 280. Mathematically, what you need to do is 250 + y =280. If you are able to find y, then should be the only benchmark you can score in your FUTO post UTME, to gain admission into the school.
It is not just as simple as that. Still judging from the same example, you should have thought that the cut-off mark for the course may increase, due to the effects of lockdown (which gave many people time to study better). So, to succeed without fear, add up say y+10 (as your target). And you must win, only through studies.
The punctuality needed by a student starts from the time of registration, till the time of examination. For clarity’s sake, let me make it clearer for your comprehension.
If the school opens the portal for registration, do not hesitate. There is nothing wrong with registering for your FUTO post UTME some minutes before deadline, but there is possibilities of being hit by the Nigerian-factor (which includes network fluctuation, not having money for the forms, parents traveled site down etc. just avoid such stories that touch 🙂
Now, the second part of the punctuality is about the examination date. Do not wait till a day to the examination before proceeding with your travel, unless your dad has a private jet.
To pass FUTO post UTME 2020, you should also remember the fact that the state does not have the best of roads in Nigeria-forgive me if you are political.
Now, that we are in alignment with what we need to scale through FUTO screening, we can go over to other important factors, for prospective students.
