William Jessup University: WJU is a private university in Rocklin, it was established in 1939 as San Jose Bible College. It was later named Williams Jesse University in 2004 after moving to a new campus.  

The master’s and advanced program’s admission requirement is the same as that of the undergraduate students.

This includes a grade point average of 3.0 or higher, official college transcripts that show they have a bachelor’s degree, a resume, and two letters of recommendation. WJU accepts both academic and professional letters.

A personal essay is also due, which should explain the faith that the student has and how he or she will use that faith in a graduate program.

The counseling psychology program requires that students create and submit a two-minute video that explains why they would be an asset to the program and their reasons for choosing William Jessup.

Some programs may ask for an interview too. The tuition fee at WJU ranges between $440 and $550 per credit hour. Financial aid is given to students with a GPA of 3.8 or higher and minimum ACT scores of 29. Other scholarship opportunities are also available at WJU.

Brandman University: the admission requirement for the advanced degree program are

The first step is, either to submit a 3.0 GPA calculated over the most recent 30 graded semesters (45 quarter) credits or a GPA between 2.5 and 2.99 calculated over the most recent graded 30 semesters (45 quarter) credits, or an earned master’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution or submission of a portfolio showing adequate preparation for graduate studies.

Secondly, submit a graduate application.

The third step is to complete any required graduate examination.

Finally, submit the official transcript and other necessary documents.  The university also offers financial aids to graduate students.

This includes federal aid and other loans.

National University (campuses in Ontario and San Bernardino):

Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited college or university where an overall grade point average of 2.5 or better was achieved.

Secondly, Students with a grade point average of 2.0 to 2.49 may be admitted to the University if they have a satisfactory score on one of the following tests: GMAT, GRE, Miller Analogies Test, or an approved, standardized program-specific exam.

These tests are NOT required for those with a GPA of over 2.5.

Thirdly, Students with an undergraduate grade point average of 2.0 to 2.49 may be accepted to National University on a probationary status (instead of taking the above tests).

Students are ineligible for official admission and will not be processed for degree evaluation or financial aid until students have completed a minimum of 4.5 or a maximum of 13.5 quarter units of graduate study with a cumulative GPA of 3.0.

The fourth step is, Preliminary documentation of prior education must be presented at required interview with an admissions advisor.

Unofficial transcripts are acceptable.

The fifth step is, applicants must complete an application for admission and enrollment agreement.

Finally, individual degree programs may have additional admission requirements.

Financial aids are also given to graduate students who have established eligibility for aid.

Loma Linda University:

Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited U.S. college or the equivalent from a foreign university, applicants must have GPA: 3.0, GRE:

A combined minimum verbal and quantitative standard scores totaling the sum corresponding to the 50th percentile for each of those sections with neither verbal nor quantitative score lower than the standard score corresponding to the 35th percentile for that section, GRE Writing: Greater than or equal to 4.0 and TOEFL: 550 if paper-based, 213 if computer-based, and 80 if internet-based (with a minimum of 18 on each of four sections: reading, listening, speaking, and writing).

Students are expected to arrange for financial resources to cover all expenses before the beginning of each school year.

University of Redlands: Admission to the University as a degree candidate is granted only after all admissions materials have been received and all minimum standards have been met.

A complete application file includes; a completed, signed application, official transcripts from all institutions previously attended, 40 units of transferable credit, and a 2.0 GPA minimum. Financial aid granted to graduate students.

Financial aids and grants are granted to graduate students too. Students must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each year in order to be eligible for need-based financial aid.

California State University, San Bernardino: Applicants seeking a master’s degree must have obtained a degree equivalent to a U.S. bachelor’s degree and meet the English proficiency requirement for the program.

Unofficial transcript such as transcript with your earned degree(s) posted, Transcripts with any post-baccalaureate level coursework taken, and transcript from the last institution that you attended.

University of California, Riverside: UCR offers a variety of multi-year funding opportunities for incoming students that may include stipends, full or partial payment of tuition and fees, and appointment as a Teaching Assistant (TA) or Graduate Student Researcher (GSR).

The admission requirements for graduate studies include;

A bachelor’s degree, or its equivalent, from an accredited institution. The degree must represent the completion of a program equivalent in subject matter and scholarship to that offered by the University of California.

A minimum of a 3.0 undergraduate GPA or B-equivalent (if GPA is not on a 4.0 scale).

We recommend that you check with the graduate program as they may have a higher standard for their GPA requirements. If your GPA is below this, follow up with the graduate program you are interested in.

Applications are reviewed in their entirety and the program can look at your other components and advise you on potential admission.

And finally, all applications are initially reviewed by the graduate program before a recommendation is submitted to the Graduate Division for final approval.
