MasterCard Foundation Scholars Initiative is to ensure that Africa, breeds the next generation of leaders by supporting them.

About the Award:

In conjunction with a network of partner institutions approved to nominate applicants, scholarships for the 2020/2021 academic year are awarded.

Sciences Po is the first university to join the Scholars Program of the MasterCard Foundation in continental Europe.

  • Complete the Sciences Po Bachelor of Arts program, Africa specialization
  • To complete a two-year Master’s program at one of the seven graduate schools
  • To attend Sciences Po Summer School

Requirements

  • The grants are awarded to students with an exceptional academic prospect from sub-Saharan African countries. And a strong potential for leadership, but faced with financial and other higher education barriers.
  • Scholarships are granted within a period of three years for the Bachelor’s degree. Then, two years for the Master’s degree and one month for the Summer School.
  • Tuition fees at Sciences Po and living costs in France during the study period are covered.
  • As well as funding their studies, Sciences Po will offer scholars a precise set of resources. So as to guarantee they have suitable academic support and to facilitate their transition from education to employment.
  • An orientation program and individualized academic advising throughout their studies at Sciences Po.
  • A supportive program presented in collaboration with the Africa Division of Sciences Po Alumni.

An online employment service devoted solely to career prospects in Africa (apprenticeships and first jobs).

The scholarship covers, within the study period, the full tuition fees and expenses for accommodation and maintenance in France.

Eligibility for the MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program

  • You should not have already completed a postgraduate degree.
