Eligibility Criteria for PM Modi Scholarship 2024/2025
The PM Modi scholarship is exclusively for the wards and widows of ex/serving personnel of the Armed Forces and Coast Guard. Even ex-Coast Guard personnel who died in harness or became disabled due to military service/coast guard service are eligible. This opportunity is available nationwide for a duration of 1 to 5 years.
To be eligible for the PMSS 25 scholarship scheme, candidates must have taken admission in the 2024 academic session for recognized degree programs such as BE, B. Tech, BDS, MBBS, B. Ed, BBA, BCA, B. Pharm, etc.
Benefits of the Scholarship Program
The government of India is dedicated to awarding 5,500 scholarships annually. The scholarship amount is divided equally between male and female candidates. Male candidates are eligible for Rs30,000 per year, while female candidates receive Rs36,000. The scholarship covers a duration of one to five years, aligning with the course duration approved by the institution.
The scholarship amount, including any other financial assistance, should not exceed the total scholarship amount under this scheme.
Ineligible Candidates for PM Modi Scholarship
The scholarship scheme does not apply to candidates wishing to study outside the country. Additionally, those already in 2nd and subsequent years of study (except for integrated courses) are ineligible. Wards of civilians, paramilitary personnel, aspirants receiving stipends for professional degree courses, and students pursuing studies through distance learning courses are not eligible. Master’s degree courses, except for MBA and MCA, are not covered by PMSS.
Courses Offered by PM Modi Scholarship Scheme 2024/2025
The PM Modi scholarship scheme for the year 2024/2025 is open to 10th and 12th passed students pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. The eligible fields of study include Engineering, Medical, PhD, Postgraduate studies (MA, M.com, and M.Sc.), and Graduate studies (BA, B.Sc., B.Com).
Application Process: How to Apply for PM Modi Scholarship
Interested applicants seeking higher studies under this scheme should aim to score at least 60% marks in their last educational exams. In the first year, candidates are expected to score a minimum of 50% marks in their course.
The application is only for undergraduate and selected postgraduate studies. Each applicant can fill a form for only one course during the program.
Preferential treatment will be given to widows or dependent wards of ex-servicemen or coast guard members who lost their lives or suffered injuries while on duty. Family members of soldiers who died due to Army-related causes or received gallant awards are also prioritized.
