The government of India established The Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan Scholarship, on 15th October 1970.

It was established as an autonomous organization for the purpose of implementing the policies and programs of the Central Government, for the development propagation, and promotion of Sanskrit.

The scholar shall send the Utilization Certificate and Progress Report on the work done by the scholar through the Guide and Head of the Department, to enable the Sansthan to consider the Scholarship for the second year.

Normally, the scholarship is awarded to students only on one academic year in reference to their previous academic performance. This is to let students know that this process won’t be automatically renewed.

Terms & Conditions for Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan Scholarship

1. Students must have opted for the subject i.e. Sanskrit, Pali, Prakrit in the present class of Study for which the students have applied for the Scholarship programs. However, students will only receive grants from the scholarship in reference to their past performance in their academics or scores from their examinations. 

2. The Scholarship will of the concerned Academic year tenable for one Academic year i.e (10 months) starting from the 1st of July and ending with 30th April. 

3. The Scholarship for the Ph.D. Vidyavaridhi will follow set down protocol which is a 24months program. it can be presented for a maximum of two years

 4. As per guidelines of the Scheme, a list of the students provisionally eligible for the award of the scholarship will be sent through E-mail or by post, to the Principal/H.O.D./Dean of the concerned institution for verification. 

5. The details of the students, verified by the Principal, H.O.D., Dean of the concerned institution shall be countersigned by the following respective authority: 

  • For Affiliated schools – Director of Education State/District Education Officer/ Block Education Officer. 
  • For Govt. Schools -Principal of concerned School. 
  • For Kendriya Vidyalaya – Principal of concerned School. 
  • For Govt. Colleges -Principal of the concerned College. 
  • For affiliated Colleges -Registrar of the affiliating University.

6. The details of the student countersigned by any authorities other than the above will not be entertained.

4.Class 12th standard/Prak-Shastri-2 nd/ Uttarmadhyama-2nd year or equivalent courseMust have passed the previous examination (i.e. 11th class or equivalent course) with a minimum of 60% marks or equal grade in overall and 60% marks or equal grade in Sanskrit/Pali/ Prakrit. The students should have opted Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit as a paper of at-least 100 marks or equivalent grade in current class and also in previous class (i.e. 11th class or equivalent course).Rs.300/- p.m. for 10 months (Rs.3000/- p.a.)
5.Shastri-1 st /B.A.-1 st/ B.A.(Hons.)-1 st or equivalent courseMust have passed Intermediate/Higher Secondary / 12th class or equivalent course with minimum 60% marks or equal grade in overall subject and also 60% marks or equal grade in the Sanskrit/Pali/ Prakrit. The students should have opted Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit as a paper of at-least 100 marks or equivalent grade in current class and also in previous class (i.e. 12th class or equivalent course).Rs.400/- p.m. for 10 months (Rs.4000/- p.a.)

Procedures for The Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan Scholarship Application

Applicants who are interested in Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan Scholarship should follow these procedures below:

  • At first, candidates need to visit the official website i.e. Sanskrit.nic.in or scholarship.rsks.in.
  • Then, the home page of the Government of India within Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan (Deemed University) will appear on the screen.
  • Over there, you have to check the Scholarship Advertisement.
  • Read the stepwise explanation to apply, links that are mentioned to fill the Sanskrit Scholarship Application Form.
  • Now, click the Guidelines for Online Scholarship Link to read the complete Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan Scholarship Scheme.
  • If you are eligible for all the conditions provided, then you can proceed further.
  • Click the New Registration button and fill the application form.
  • After that, the details of registered institutions will be activated by RSKS after due verification within a week of registration.
  • Now, the name of the activated institutions will appear in the drop-down menu of the candidate’s Online Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan Scholarship Application Form.
  • You will receive a mail sent by the Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan and the institution can be modified or upload sufficient details in the Online Registration Form.
  • After activation, you can log in to fill other details in your Sanskrit Application Form 2019-20.
  • Click the “Candidate Login for Online Scholarship Application” Link.
  • You will be redirected to the new page there you have to enter your Email ID, Mobile & Password.
  • Click the Login Tab.
  • Fill the form and then upload the suitable documents as provided.
  • Now, submit the duly filled Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan Scholarship Application Form.
  • Download it and then take out the printed copy of it for further usage.
