An overview of the redeemed Christian church of God
A Pentecostal megachurch and denomination founded in Lagos, Nigeria, is the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).

After he participated in other churches, the RCCG was founded in 1952 by Rev. Josiah Olufemi Akindayomi (1909-1980).
Enoch Adejare Adeboye was elected by Rev. Akindayomi as the next general overseer.
When he entered the church in 1973, Enoch Adeboye was a lecturer in mathematics at the University of Lagos, Nigeria.
Initially, Adeboye became one of the interpreters who translated the sermons of Akindayomi from Yoruba to English.
In 1975, he has ordained a church priest, and his appointment as a church leader (General overseer) was formalized by the posthumous reading of the sealed pronouncement of Akindayomi.
The Redeemed Christian Church of God Bible School was founded in 1990.
“Andrew Rice, writing in The New York Times, calls the RCCG” one of the religious groups that are most actively spreading in Africa, a homegrown Pentecostal denomination that is crusading to become a global faith.
The leaders of the church preach that “there will be at least one member of the Redeemed Christian Church of God in every household in the world in the future.”
In 2008, it had 14,000 churches in 80 countries and 5 million members in Nigeria.
In numerous places around the world, the international church is organized. The local churches are now divided into regions, with Nigeria having 25 regions.
It is organized around much of the world as well. Notable special spiritual programs are the Holy Ghost Service that takes place in Nigeria on the first Friday of every month.
Then, with separate schedules, the annual Holy Ghost Convention (August) and the Holy Ghost Congress (December) in Nigeria and beyond.
There were 50,000 individuals in the Lagos Church in 2020.
Belief
The official website of the RCCG outlines its beliefs in the Bible and the Holy Trinity, that the Devil exists, that God created man in his image, salvation, cleansing from sins by the grace of God, sanctification, water baptism, baptism of the Holy Spirit, restitution, and that God can cure without medicine (e.g. through prayer) by His divine intervention.
The church is a strong promoter of peace and holiness (“Follow peace and holiness with all [men], without which the Lord will not be seen by man. Hebrews 12:14 KJV).
“The church bans “worldliness” and rebellion against church authority (such as revelatory and lewd dancing). The church is therefore opposed to debt to fund either the church or its operations.
It urges parents and constitutional authorities to abstain from all evil and respect.
Impact of RCCG on individual lives
The first field in which the ministry of E A Adeboye. In the multitudes of souls converted from their old ways to Christ, Adeboye has influenced society.
Although many of these converts undoubtedly came from the tradition of Christianity on the island, there had never been a Christian meeting before. Before they were converted, many were involved in violent, anti-social behavior.
It is hard to provide a specific number of souls saved by the ministry of E.Adeboye due to the sheer spread of his activities for a variety of reasons.
These include sermons given at various RCCG deaths on special programs such as evangelistic outreach, Go-A-Fishing, Holy Ghost Services, Annual Conference, Holy Ghost Congress, Open Air Crusade in different communities, and stadiums.
Services on the campuses of various universities in Nigeria and special Holy Ghost services in various countries around the world, such as the United Kingdom Festival of Life.
