Visa Procedure

Depending on your country of origin, the program you are taking, and the period of your thesis, the form of documents required:

Any up to six-month study program: no study permit is required.

Programs longer than six months require a permit to research

If you are going to study in a six-month or less program, but assume you can resume your studies in another program after finishing this short-term program, before you come to Canada, you can apply for a study permit.

In order to apply for it, you would have to leave Canada if you do not have a valid study permit and want to resume your studies.

The International Students Fees

Universities in Ontario Canada for International student payments each year (two semesters) are about $14,000 in Canadian funds. Additional fees can also be paid by schools.

You are not covered by the Canadian government for medical, hospital, or dental treatment.

Many schools, however, have a health plan at their disposal for foreign students.

The Canadian government cannot supply you with financial assistance.

Obtaining a Test Certificate | Study Permit

You need to apply for a research permit (Form IMM1294) after you have received a letter of approval from an Ontario institution.

You can apply for a research permit online, or from the closest visa application center, you can request a paper application.

Things Needed

  • A valid visa, in the majority of cases,
  • Letter of admission from the college showing the research schedule, with starting and end dates
  • Proof that you have enough money during your whole stay in Canada to support yourself and your dependents (exact sums can differ based on the form of research permit)

You may need to have extra paperwork if you are applying for a research permit via the Student Direct Stream.

What does GED Mean?

General Educational Progress (GED) is an international assessment program intended to assess the status of people who have not finished high school in terms of schooling.

But from the classroom, they have acquired awareness, expertise, and experience.

Individuals can receive a High School Equivalence Certificate after finishing the GED, which is deemed by universities and employers to be equivalent to an OSSD (Ontario Secondary School Diploma).

Fee for Registration

To apply to college through ontariocolleges.ca, there is a non-refundable charge of $95.00 CDN.

Up to 5 curriculum options (no more than 3 at any one college) are included in the enrollment fee; the programs must commence during the same academic year (August to July).

You will need to build a new application and incur a new application processing fee to apply to programs beginning in the next academic year.

After the application processing fee has been paid, the submission will not be forwarded to the college options.

Paying this fee does not ensure that you can get an option for your program of choice, so without any further fees, you will make adjustments to your program options within the same application period.

In addition to the $95.00 application processing fee, other costs may be available, including transcript submission costs for certain educational institutions and a transcript processing fee of $5.00.
